The Foo Mart
The Foo Mart was Dog River’s grocery store. When the producers of the show arrived in Rouleau, they found the sign in the basement of the building, but it was missing letters. They thought that was funny and kept the sign the way it was. As part of Dog River’s quaintification in Corner Gas: The Movie, the sign was filled in to read FOOD MART, but it never really looked right!
Unfortunately, the building was destroyed by a fire in September 2014.

Did you know
- For Corner Gas: The Movie they re-created the store across the street in a different location – next to the Hotel. The crew had to create the new letters to fill in the sign.
- The interior scenes for the Movie were filmed at the Saskatchewan Sound Stage, with the exception of one shot looking out the window of the Foo Mart that was filmed in Rouleau.
- The Foo Mart is owned and operated by Won Hu, who was played in the movie by actor Russell Yuen. Won and the Foo Mart will be back in Corner Gas Animated, and Won will be voiced by actor Vincent Tong.
